The College of Medicine offers an MD Program on one of the most comprehensive health science campuses in the nation. Of the 125 accredited medical schools, the college is ranked 31st in research and 13th among public institutions in the 2008 U.S. News & World Report "America's Best Graduate Schools".
Applications for the Autumn 2011 MD Program will be available through AMCAS on or about June 1. AMCAS applications will be accepted starting June 1 until November 1 of the year prior to anticipated matriculation. No applications are accepted by AMCAS after November 1. If you designate Ohio State on the electronic AMCAS application, you will receive an email from the College of Medicine directing you to the web-based secondary application. The College of Medicine Admissions committee will evaluate you using competitive admission standards. Along with a strong academic performance, the college looks for you to be self-motivated and compassionate, with strong integrity and interpersonal skills to match the intellectual, physical, and emotional capacities needed to master the medical curriculum. Diverse interests and backgrounds are helpful in establishing a balanced view of society necessary for success in medical practice.
