What
do you like about Columbus?
Columbus
is small enough to get to know people, yet provides plenty
of ways to spend free time in an enjoyable manner.

Why
did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
The
Ohio State University has strong national name recognition
and the Fisher College of Business is ranked among the top
business schools in the country. I chose Ohio State because
these factors will give me entree into Ohio State's far-reaching
and influential alumni association upon graduation and ideally
result in continuous networking and professional development
opportunities. Additionally, the recent redesign in the MLHR
curriculum demonstrated Ohio State's commitment to improving
the program. I feel confident that I will leave the program
with a solid, well-rounded education in the field of Human
Resources.

what
do you like about Columbus?
I
moved to Columbus from Chicago and was pleasantly surprised
at how easily I was able to make that transition. As a result
of ongoing development that has truly enhanced the city's
offerings, Columbus has become what I like to call a "mini-Chicago."
Great restaurants, historic neighborhoods, winning sports
teams (Go Bucks!), and a thriving arts community, are just
some of the positive attributes that Columbus has to offer.
In addition, although it is the biggest city in Ohio, Columbus
still retains that small town feel, welcoming newcomers with
good old Midwestern values.

What
has been your experience in obtaining financial aid?
I
was fortunate to be offered a graduate adminstrative assistantship
in the Graduate Programs Office. I work 20 hours a week and
receive a monthly stipend in addition to the cost of my tuition
and fees.

Why
did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
Although
The Ohio State University is such a large school, they had
no problem adapting to my individual needs in allowing me
to create my own unique educational experience. When I told
the graduate school that I wanted to pursue degrees in both
of my interests, Human Resources and Health Services Management
& Policy, even though no such dual degree program existed,
they worked diligently with me in making it possible. Not
only am I able to complete both of my degrees at OSU simultaneously,
I am also able to study in two nationally recognized programs.
.............................................................................................................
What
do you like about your graduate program at Ohio State?
Both
of my graduate programs have outstanding faculty, strong career
development services, and unyielding support in helping me
to meet my educational and professional objectives. My classmates
come from a wide variety of backgrounds and enrich the learning
environment through their diverse experiences.

Any
comment on the Research facilities, teaching, and opportunities
at Ohio State?
Opportunities
at The Ohio State University are never hard to find, from
student organizations, to research studies, to intramural
sports, the life of a graduate student is anything but dull.
The classes are small and professors work hard to modify the
direction of the course to accommodate students' needs.

What
do you like about Columbus?
Columbus
is a spirited city with an abundance of shopping, restaurants,
night life, and sports. The community is very supportive of
the university and area businesses make themselves available
to aid students in gaining practical knowledge during their
studies.
.............................................................................................................
What
has been your experience in obtaining financial aid?
As
a graduate assistant, I have received tuition and a monthly
stipend in exchange for working twenty hours per week. During
this time, I have aided faculty in researching timely topics
for funded studies, instructed recitation courses, and advised
undergraduate honors business students. Not only have I been
able to receive funding for my education, but I have also
been able to gain experience as a researcher, a mentor, and
a teacher.

Why
did you choose Ohio State University for your graduate studies?
I
chose The Ohio State University because it is a highly reputable
university which offers excellent opportunities for its students.

What
do you like about your graduate program at Ohio State?
The
MLHR program at The Fisher College of Business prepares its
students for a successful career in Human Resources through
a very comprehensive and challenging curriculum. The new 76-hour
curriculum encompases all arenas of HR providing a very broad
scope of the Human Resource field. I believe this new curriculum
offers a very thorough and introspective view of the HR Field,
and will fully prepare me for a key role in an organization.

What
do you like about Columbus?
Columbus
is a city full of tradition and pride. It provides a home-town
feel with all the advantages of a big city. Columbus is completely
navigable and does not have all the problems of a big city
- traffic, sky-rocketing prices, crowding, etc. The city offers
incredible restaurants, excellent shopping, exciting night
entertainment, and professional as well as collegiate sports!

What
has been your experience in obtaining financial aid?
I
do have a Graduate Assistantship in the Graduate Programs
Office. My GA appointment works with the admissions/recruiting
aspect for the Macc, MLHR, and Ph.D programs.
