What to expect during the review process
Once we receive your application, we will send you an acknowledgement and OSU ID and password. Please use your OSU ID for all correspondence.
Application review may take six to eight weeks from the date that all application materials are received. It is your responsibility to ensure your application is complete and up-to- date.
You may check your application status online at appstatus.osu.edu. You will need your OSU ID and
password to check your application status. The application status can be checked only during the following times:
- Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 1 a.m.
- Saturday, 7 a.m. – midnight
- Sunday, 11 a.m. – 1 a.m
Please note all times are U.S. Eastern Standard Time.
What to expect after you are admitted
If you are admitted to the university, you will receive:
- Notice of admission
- Certificate of Eligibility (I-20 or DS-2019) or International Student Transfer Form, if required
- Transfer Credit Report if you have completed any university-level course work:
Transferring credit from another university
To receive transfer credit from an accredited or officially recognized higher education institution, a
final grade of no less than C- (or its equivalent) is required. Transfer credit is not awarded for remedial courses or English as a Second Language courses.
- Acceptance Fee Statement
Indicate on the Acceptance Fee Statement whether or not you will be attending Ohio State. If you choose to attend Ohio State, a nonrefundable fee of U.S. $100 must accompany the statement.

Updating your application
If you choose not to attend Ohio State during the quarter for which you have applied, you may update your application for up to three subsequent quarters without paying another application fee.
Current financial documentation is important; if the financial documentation submitted with your original application will be more than one year old prior to the date classes begin for your desired quarter, you will be required to submit a new Affidavit of Support form (download the affidavit form) and bank statement. If you complete additional course work you must also submit an updated transcript.
