To be considered for admission to Ohio State, the following documents are required and must be submitted by the application completion deadline. Please see detailed information in the International Undergraduate Application (download the application).
We strongly recommend that you keep copies of all
submitted materials. A literal and certified English translation of all
documents is required.
- A completed and signed "Application for International Undergraduate Admission," including essay responses (available online or for download at apply.osu.edu).
- A nonrefundable U.S. $50 application processing fee (check or money order made payable to The Ohio State University). This fee cannot be waived or deferred and is valid for one year. All checks must be drawn on a U.S. bank or overseas bank with a branch or affiliate located in the United States. Reference the applicant’s name on the check. Your application will not be reviewed until this fee is paid.
- For freshman applicants—documents from grades
9-12. Include any official university or postsecondary institution transcripts for course work taken while attending high school, grades 9-12.
For transfer applicants—university or postsecondary institution transcript and, if awarded, the diploma,
certificate, or diploma statement and high school documents, if necessary.

- A completed College Prep Form, only if attending high school in the U.S. (download the College Prep Form)
- Official SAT or ACT scores with writing for freshmen and transfer applicants
with less than 45 transferable quarter hours. (Official scores must be reported directly from the testing agency; self-reported scores and copies are not considered official.)
- A completed Affidavit of Financial Support form for each sponsor (download the affidavit form)
- Official proof of English language skills, usually TOEFL scores
- Supporting bank statements showing financial support for the
first year of study
